The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the stinters; 1 Those who when they take the measure from mankind demand it full, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do they not think they will be raised again 4 on a great day 5 The day when (all) mankind stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 and none cries lies to it but every guilty aggressor. 12 And when Our revelations are rehearsed unto him, he saith: fables of the ancients! 13 Nay, but their hearts are corroded by all [the evil] that they were wont to do! 14 Verily, from (the Light of) their Lord, that Day, will they be veiled. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 witnessed by all who have [ever] been drawn close unto God. 21 Behold, [in the life to come] the truly virtuous will indeed be in bliss: 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 On their faces you will see the glow of beatitude. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 So this day it is the believers who laugh at the disbelievers. 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
