The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ [The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away. 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 their hearts are distracted and forgetful. The wrongdoers confer together secretly, saying, "Is not this man a mortal like you? Will you succumb to magic with your eyes open?" 3 The Prophet said, "My Lord knows whatever is said throughout the heaven and earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing." 4 Nay! say they: Medleys of dreams; nay! he has forged it; nay! he is a poet; so let him bring to us a sign as the former (prophets) were sent (with). 5 Not one habitation that We destroyed before them had believed. So how can they believe? 6 Before thee, also, the messengers We sent were but men, to whom We granted inspiration: If ye realise this not, ask of those who possess the Message. 7 Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death. 8 Then We fulfilled the promise We had made to them: We rescued them and those whom We wished, and We destroyed those who exceeded all bounds. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
