And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 Indeed these disbelievers proclaim; – 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring us our fathers, if you speak truly!' 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
