The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
