۞ We revealed to Moses: "Set forth with My servants by night for you will be pursued." 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities (to mobilise troops) 53 [bidding them to call out his troops and to proclaim:] "Behold, these [children of Israel] are but a contemptible band; 54 They are always harassing us. 55 But we are a numerous host, ever on guard." 56 and so we have [rightly] driven them out of [their] gardens and springs, 57 and [deprived them of their erstwhile] station of honour!" 58 and We made the Children of Israel inheritors of these bounties. 59 So they pursued them at sunrise. 60 and as soon as the two hosts came in sight of one another, the followers of Moses exclaimed: "Behold, we shall certainly be overtaken [and defeated]!" 61 [Musa (Moses)] said: "Nay, verily! With me is my Lord, He will guide me." 62 So We sent the divine revelation to Moosa that, “Strike the sea with your staff”; thereupon the sea parted; so each part was like a huge mountain. 63 And We advanced thereto the pursuers. 64 And We saved Musa and those with him, all of them. 65 Then We drowned the others. 66 Indeed in this is surely a sign, and most of them were not Muslims. 67 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 68
