The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He has created man: 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the East and West through all seasons. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25
