3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
And indeed Nuh (Noah) invoked Us, and We are the Best of those who answer (the request). 75 We rescued him and his people from the greatest affliction 76 And We made his offspring the survivors. 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!' 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 A lie-- gods besides Allah-- do you desire? 86 What then is your opinion of the Lord of the Worlds? 87 And he cast a look at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the raging fire." 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 (Abraham) said, "I will go to my Lord who will guide me". 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 So when they both submitted and he threw him down upon his forehead, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have indeed fulfilled your dream. Thus do We reward the good-doers.” 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
