The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 thy robes purify 4 stay away from sins 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 And for whom I appointed wealth extended. 12 and children living in his presence, 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 May he be condemned! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then he beheld, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 We have appointed none but angels as the keepers of the Fire, and We have not made their number but as a trial for the unbelievers so that those who have been endowed with the Book will be convinced and the believers' faith will increase, and neither those who have been endowed with the Book nor the believers will fall into any doubt. As for those in whose hearts there is a sickness as well as the unbelievers, they will say: “What did Allah aim at by this strange parable?” Thus does Allah let whomsoever He pleases to go astray, and directs whomsoever He pleases to the Right Way. And none knows the hosts of your Lord but He. (And Hell has only been mentioned here) that people may take heed. 31
