Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
