The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
