Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Many faces will be contrite on that day, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 that will neither nourish nor satisfy their hunger. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Pleased with their striving,- 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 therein uplifted couches 13 And goblets ready placed! 14 cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 Save the one who turns away and disbelieves 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
