The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A multitude of those of old 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 (no brows throbbing, no intoxication) 19 and such fruits as they shall choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk, no cause of sin, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 and clustered bananas, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water everflowing. 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And raised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 and made them virgins, 36 The beloved of their husbands, of one age. 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
