No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mortals, 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 except the people of the right hand 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 From the guilty. 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What is the matter with them that they turn away from this Reminder, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
