Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
