The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I secretly plan. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
