The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for him who gave out his wealth (for Allah's sake) and abstained (from disobeying Him), 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 So We will very soon provide him ease. 7 As for him who was a miser and behaved with aversion (to Allah), 8 and rejects what is right, 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 And indeed, to Us belongs the Hereafter and the first [life]. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 where none shall burn except the most wicked, 15 He who denieth and turneth away. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who giveth away his substance that he may be cleansed, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He verily will be content. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
