Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 then winnow them thoroughly, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 Assuredly, what ye are promised must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For which day were they appointed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known extent. 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Go on towards the threefold shadow 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Judgement. We have assembled you all together with past generations. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
