He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ (The Prophet) frowned and turned away, 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or become reminded so that the reminder should profit him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 you attended to him, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 and fearfully, 9 Of him you are neglectful and divert your attention to another, 10 No! Indeed, these verses are a reminder; 11 So whoever wills may remember it. 12 On honourable pages. 13 Exalted, pure. 14 In the hands of scribes 15 noble and pious. 16 Man is (self-)destroyed: how ungrateful! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a (sperm) drop He created him and then determined him, 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then He causes him to die, and puts him in his grave; 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Nay; but he has not done what He bade him. 23 So man must look at his food. 24 That We watered it in abundance. 25 then We split the earth in fissures 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 And olives and date-palms, 29 and dense-tree'd gardens, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 an enjoyment for you and your flocks. 32 And when the Blast shall sound, 33 it will be such a day when a person will run away from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 Each man will have enough cares that day. 37 Some faces that Day will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 And other faces, that Day, will be dust-stained; 40 and veiled with darkness. 41 Such will be the Kafarah (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, and in His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him), etc.), the Fajarah (wicked evil doers). 42
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
