Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 so that we bring down stones of clay upon them 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 And also in Moses, when We sent him unto Pharaoh, with a clear authority, 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 And in the Thamud (was another Sign): Behold, they were told, "Enjoy (your brief day) for a little while!" 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
