Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 who collects and hordes wealth, 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 And what shall make thee know that which the Crushing Fire is? 5 It is the fire kindled by God 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 verily, it will close in upon them 8 in its long columns of flames. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
