The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

A. L. M. 1 This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; 2 who believe in the unseen, establish the Salats and expend (in Our way) out of what We have bestowed on them; 3 And who believe in the Revelation sent to thee, and sent before thy time, and (in their hearts) have the assurance of the Hereafter. 4 These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. 5 Verily those who have disbelieved, it is equal to them whether thou warnest them or warnest them not; they will not believe. 6 Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing and there is a covering over their eyes, and there is a great punishment for them. 7
