And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 They used to hew dwellings in the mountains to live in security. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 Out of what they had gained, nothing proved to be of any benefit to them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 who set up another god with God, but they shall soon learn. 96 And indeed We know that you are disheartened by their speech. 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
