And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 We made in it gardens of date-palms and vines, and We caused springs to gush forth 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 Holy is He Who created all things in pairs, whether it be of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 We have appointed stages for the moon till it returns in the shape of a dry old branch of palm-tree. 39 Neither does it lie in the sun's power to overtake the moon nor can the night outstrip the day. All glide along, each in its own orbit. 40 And a sign unto them is that We bear their offspring in a laden ship. 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 If it were Our Will, We could drown them: then would there be no helper (to hear their cry), nor could they be delivered, 43 But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time. 44 When it is said to such people: “Guard yourselves against what is ahead of you and what has preceded you that mercy be shown to you” (they pay scant heed to it). 45 And whenever a sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, they always turn away from it! 46 And when it is said to them: 'Spend of that which Allah has given you' the unbelievers say to the believers: 'Are we to feed those whom Allah can feed if He chooses? Surely, you are only in clear error' 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 Then they will not be able to make bequest, nor they will return to their family. 50
