The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn. 2 Glorify your Lord, 3 And your clothing purify 4 and defilement flee! 5 Give not, thinking to gain greater 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 He reflected and then hatched a scheme. 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 Then he beheld, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 and said: “This (Qur'an) is merely a sorcery of yore; 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 I will surely roast him in the Scorching. 26 And what will make you realize what hell is? 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen. 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
