The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 Nay, they will come to know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs (male and female, tall and short, good and bad, etc.). 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We made above you seven strong ones, 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 In order to produce grain and plants with it. 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 the Day when the trumpet [of resurrection] is sounded and you all come forward in multitudes; 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 therein to tarry for ages, 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 only burning despair and ice-cold darkness: 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 For indeed they did not look forward to any reckoning, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And We have recorded everything in a book, 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
