The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 When the souls are sorted out, (being joined, like with like); 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 by the night when it approaches 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, and honest. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
