The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven with its impregnable castles; 1 and by the promised Day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 As they sat around it 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 Verily, He it is Who begins (punishment) and repeats (punishment in the Hereafter) (or originates the creation of everything, and then repeats it on the Day of Resurrection). 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
