Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 On that Day, there shall be downcast faces, 2 Toiling, weary, 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In a high Garden 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 raised couches, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 and cushions ranged, 15 and rich carpets levelled out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the sky, how it is raised aloft? 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 then upon Us shall rest their reckoning. 26
