The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Alif Lam Mim. 1 This Book whereof there is no doubt, is a guidance unto the God-fearing. 2 who believe in the unseen, and are steadfast in prayer, and spend out of what We have provided them with; 3 those who believe in the revelation sent down to you and in what was sent before you, and firmly believe in the life to come -- 4 These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. 5 As for the unbelievers, alike it is to them whether thou hast warned them or hast not warned them, they do not believe. 6 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. 7
