The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 There is no denying that it will befall - 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 Companions of the Right, what are the Companions of the Right? 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 a host of the ancients 13 And a few of later ages, 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 facing one another. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 The reward for what they did. 24 No empty talk will they hear there, nor any call to sin, 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and shade extended, 30 and gushing water, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 and upraised couches. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins. 36 Loving (their husbands only), equal in age. 37 For those on the Right Hand. 38
