These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 And a multitude of those of later time. 40 And the fellows on the left hand; how miserable shall the fellows on the left hand be! 41 They will live amid the scorching, 42 in the shadow of a smoking blaze, 43 Which is neither cool nor is for respect. 44 Verily they have been heretofore affluent. 45 And were stubborn upon the great sin (of disbelief). 46 And they used to say: "When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected? 47 And also our forefathers? 48 (Muhammad), say, "All the ancient and later generations 49 will indeed be gathered together at an appointed time on a Day known [only to God]: 50 Then you, you misguided ones, who deny the truth, 51 you will indeed have to taste of the tree of deadly fruit, 52 and fill your bellies with it, 53 "And drink boiling water on top of it, 54 drinking it as thirsty camels do.” 55 Such shall be your hospitality on the Day of Recompense. 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 Have you thought about what (sperm) you ejaculate? 58 Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 That We may substitute others like unto you and produce you into that which ye know not. 61 And certainly you know the first growth, why do you not then mind? 62 Have you thought about what crops you plant? 63 Is it you who cause it to grow - or are We the cause of its growth? 64 If We willed, We could make it [dry] debris, and you would remain in wonder, 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 “In fact, we were unfortunate!” 67 And have you seen the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it to descend from the clouds, or do We? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Have you ever considered the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 72 We have made it to be a reminder and a benefit for the wayfarers. 73 Then, exalt the Name of your Lord, the Great. 74
