The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
