Deem not that God is heedless of what the evildoers work; He is only deferring them to a day when eyes shall stare, 42 when people will hurry in fright, their heads raised, their eyes unable to look around, and their hearts stunned due to the confusion (which will prevail on that Day). 43 And warn mankind of the day when the chastisement comes on them, And those who did evil shall say, 'Our Lord, defer us to a near term, and we will answer Thy call, and follow the Messengers.' 'Ah, but did you not swear aforetime there should be no removing for you? 44 You lived in the dwellings of those who wronged themselves, and it was clear to you how We dealt with them, and how We struck parables for you. 45 Indeed the unbelievers contrived their plan, but it is in Allah's power to nullify their plan, even though their plans were such that would move even mountains. 46 So think not that Allah will fail to keep His promise to His messengers. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Able to Requite (the wrong). 47 Upon the day the earth shall be changed to other than the earth, and the heavens and they sally forth unto God, the One, the Omnipotent. 48 On that Day you shall see the guilty bound in chains, 49 clothed in garments of black pitch, with fire veiling their faces. 50 In order that Allah may repay each soul what it had earned; indeed Allah spends no time in judging the account. 51 This (Quran) is a Message for mankind (and a clear proof against them), in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is the only One Ilah (God - Allah) - (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and that men of understanding may take heed. 52
