The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 And who shun vain conversation, 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 Except from their wives or the legal bondwomen that they possess, for then there is no blame upon them. 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And who (strictly) guard their prayers;- 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 Indeed We created man from a chosen soil. 12 then We set him, a drop, in a receptacle secure, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 And then, behold! after all this, you are destined to die; 15 and then on the Day of Resurrection you shall certainly be raised up. 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 So with it We produced gardens of date-palms and grapes for you, in which is abundant fruit for you and you eat therefrom. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And surely in the cattle there is a lesson for you; We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, and many uses there are in them for you, and of them you eat; 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
