The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 You shall then become three groups. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And (then) those on the left hand; what of those on the left hand? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 they who were [always] drawn close unto God! 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 And a few from the later generations. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (will be) among thornless Lote trees. 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 and spreading shade 30 and gushing water, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And raised couches. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgins, 36 full of love, well-matched 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
