The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 The closing night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Most surely it is the Word of an honored messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 So whither do you stray? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
