Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish! May he too perish! 1 His wealth and what he earns will not avail him. 2 he shall roast at a Flaming Fire, 3 His wife shall carry the (crackling) wood - As fuel!- 4 [who bears] around her neck a rope of twisted strands! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
