And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And We chose them aforetime above the nations, knowingly, 32 And gave signs to them in which there was a clear trial. 33 Most surely these do say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 So then, bring forth our forefathers [as witnesses,] if what you claim is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, for mere play, 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Decision is the appointed time for all. 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
