The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night when it covers 1 By the day when it appeareth in glory, 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 So for one who gave and practised piety 5 and believes in the finest, 6 We will ease him toward ease. 7 But as for him who is a miser, and self-sufficient, 8 And denies the best [reward], 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 His riches will not save him when he perisheth. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 and to Us belong the Next Life and the present. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who denied (the truth) and turned away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 not as payment for favours received, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 And indeed, soon he will be very pleased. 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
