The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the Glorious Morning Light, 1 And by the night when it is stillest, 2 (O Prophet), your Lord has neither forsaken you, nor is He displeased. 3 And the Hereafter is indeed better unto thee than the life present. 4 And presently thy Lord shall give unto thee so that thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefore do not oppress the orphan. 9 And repulse not the beggar; 10 and of thy Sustainer's blessings shalt thou [ever] speak. 11
