Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And made his progeny survive, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 We then drowned the others. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 and he said, 'Surely I am sick.' 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 and he turned to their idols and asked them, "Do you eat? 91 What is amiss with you that you do not speak?" 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 Thereupon the people came running to him. 94 He said: 'Do you worship what you, yourselves have carved 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 And he said: verily I am going to my Lord who will guide me. 99 "My Lord! Grant me (offspring) from the righteous." 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 We ransomed his son with a great sacrifice 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves. 111 And We gave him the good news of Ishaq, a prophet among the good ones. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself. 113
