The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THAT which must come to pass [at last] comes to pass, 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 abasing, exalting, 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the preceders are the preceders. 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear any useless speech in it, or any sin. 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and shade extended, 30 And water gushing, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 And made them virgins. 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
