Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Firaun, and those before him, and the dwellings that were inverted and thrown, had brought error. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 in a lofty garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 And not known my account! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 Of no avail to me is all that I have [ever] possessed, 28 and my authority has vanished.” 29 Seize him and fetter him, 30 Then into Hellfire drive him. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 Which none but the wrongdoers eat. 37
