AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 We also gave them Our Signs, yet they turned away from them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad SAW), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihad holy fighting in Allah's Cause]. 85 Indeed your Lord only is the Great Creator, the All Knowing. 86 We have indeed given you the seven oft-repeated (examples), and the majestic Qur'an. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 about what they did. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 who assert that there are, side by side with God, other divine powers as well: for in time they will come to know [the truth]. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 So hallow thou the praise of thy Lord, and be thou of the prostrate. 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
