And before this when Nooh called Us We therefore heard his prayer and rescued him and his household from the great calamity. 76 and helped him against the nation who had belied Our signs. They were an evil nation; We drowned them all. 77 And Daud and Sulaiman! recall what time they gave judgment regarding the tillage when certain people's sheep had pastured therein at night; and of the judgment concerning them We were the Witnesses. 78 for, [though] We made Solomon understand the case [more profoundly] yet We vouchsafed unto both of them sound judgment and knowledge [of right and wrong]. And We caused the mountains to join David in extolling Our limitless glory, and likewise the birds: for We are able to do [all things]. 79 We taught him the art of making coats of mail so that you could protect yourselves during a war. Will you then give thanks? 80 And to Sulaiman (Solomon) (We subjected) the wind strongly raging, running by his command towards the land which We had blessed. And of everything We are the All-Knower. 81 and of the Satans some dived for him and did other work besides; and We were watching over them. 82 ۞ (Remember) Job when he called to his Lord: "I am afflicted with distress, and You are the most compassionate of all." 83 We answered him and removed his affliction, and We gave his people, and those like them that were with them, mercy from Us, as a reminder to those who worship. 84 And remember Ismail, and Idrees, and Zul-Kifl; they were all patiently enduring. 85 And We caused them to enter into our mercy, verily they are of the righteous. 86 And remember Zun-Noon,* when he left in anger, assuming that We would not restrict him he therefore called out in the realms of darkness, saying, “There is no God except You, Purity is to You; I have indeed committed a lapse.” (* Prophet Yunus peace and blessings upon him) 87 Thereupon We accepted his prayer, and rescued him from grief. Thus do We rescue the believers. 88 And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, "My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while you are the best of inheritors." 89 We answered his prayer and granted him his son, John, by making his wife fruitful. They were people who would compete with each other in good deeds and pray to Us with love and reverence. With Us they were all humble people. 90 And (remember) she who guarded her chastity [Virgin Maryam (Mary)], We breathed into (the sleeves of) her (shirt or garment) [through Our Ruh - Jibrael (Gabriel)], and We made her and her son ['Iesa (Jesus)] a sign for Al-'Alamin (the mankind and jinns). 91 Verily this your order is one order, and I am your Lord; so worship Me. 92 But (later generations) cut off their affair (of unity), one from another: (yet) will they all return to Us. 93
