Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Say thou: it hath been revealed unto me that a company of the jinn listened, and said, verily we have listened to a Recitation wondrous. 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children). 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 and that “we had thought that men and jinn would never speak a lie about Allah”, 5 But some men used to seek refuge with some jinns, and this increased their waywardness; 6 So they began to think, even as you do, that God would not resurrect any one. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 Some of us are obedient while others are wrongdoers; it is the obedient who have found the right path, 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 If they (the idolaters) tread the right path, We shall give them to drink of water in abundance 16 In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
