Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
