The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
