The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Proclaim the Purity of your Lord, the Supreme. 1 Who hath created and then proportioned, 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 It is He who has caused the grass to grow, 4 Then turneth it to russet stubble. 5 We shall make you recite so that you will not forget, 6 save what God wills; surely He knows what is spoken aloud and what is hidden. 7 And We shall make easy for you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the easy way (i.e. the doing of righteous deeds). 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 And the wretched shunneth it. 11 He who shall roast into the Great Fire, 12 then he shall neither die therein, nor live. 13 He who purifies himself, 14 And glorify the name of their Guardian-Lord, and (lift their hearts) in prayer. 15 Nay, you prefer the life of this world; 16 and the world to come is better, and more enduring. 17 Verily, [all] this has indeed been [said] in the earlier revelations 18 the scrolls of Abraham and Moses. 19
