Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came to him, they said: "Peace." He answered: "Peace." They were a people he did not recognise. 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: "A barren old woman [like me]!" 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 To send down upon them stones of clay, 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 They were unable even to stand up or protect themselves. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
